About Me

Hiker
I am an avid hiker working on summitting the highest peaks in New York (Adirondacks & Catskills) and New Hampshire. In 2020, I hiked a total of 800 miles with 50,000+ of elevation gain. I am currently on 13 / 35 Catskills peaks.

@newjerseyhiker
In 2020, as the pandemic caused a surge in people using outdoor spaces and trails, I noticed a burgeoning issue on social media in my community. Few social media posts shared information on hiking in New Jersey leading people to overcrowd the few widely known sites. In addition, very little safety and environmental information was being shared with the young people heading to these sites outside of the older, niche hiker discourse community despite increasingly more young people hiking outdoors. I started @newjerseyhiker to widely share lesser known hikers in and near New Jersey. I also use the platform to share safety information, environmental resources, and to promote local hiking agencies to my younger audience. The account has 3600+ followers predominantly under 30 years!

Surfing, Paddleboarding, & Kayaking
I spend much of my free time in the warmer months in or on the water. Contrary to popular belief, New England and New Jersey (where I’m from) have more recreational water than you’d think.
-
Disc Golf
I’ve been playing disc golf almost weekly for five years now. It’s estimated that 85% of disc golfers are men. It’s a side project of mine to try to bring more women into this sport whenever possible.
